One of the highlights of the menu is the Steamed Sea Bass. Prepared in a classic Chinese style, the fish is served fresh and tender, allowing its natural flavors to stand out. Reviews from diners often focus on the variety available and the consistent quality across different menu selections.

No visit feels complete without trying the Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts. This traditional dessert provides a smooth texture and balanced sweetness, offering a pleasant finish to the meal. What customers say?

“ Had a wonderful CNY lunch with friends at Ban Heng Restaurant. It has a traditional, old-school atmosphere and is conveniently located below an HDB block, giving it a nostalgic and authentic feel. The Lou Hei (Yu Sheng) was tangy and refreshing, perfect for the festive toss. Fish maw soup was rich and comforting. The deep-fried soon hock was crispy outside and tender inside, and the steamed prawns with herbal broth were fresh and flavourful. Roasted chicken was juicy, and the tofu with spinach and facai was nicely done. Lotus leaf rice was fragrant, and the red dates, longan & peach gum dessert was a soothing finish. They even provided a complimentary bottle of red wine, abalone, and a lucky draw coupon (1st prize $16,888, 2nd prize $13,888, etc.), which added to the festive atmosphere. Overall, a great place for CNY celebrations with friends and family. ”

“ It was worthwhile to have dining in at Ban Heng Restaurant. The foods was nice and not expensive at all. Portion serve was large. This month they have promotion for a Peking Duck and a bottle of Red Wine if you order their set menu. Their service was good. The waitress will often change your plate. All of us went home satisfied with their foods and service. Will be back to try their Dim Sum. ”

“ It’s a pretty nice and cosy Teochew restaurant tucked at a corner just 200m away from Boon Keng MRT (same stretch as McDonalds). We tried the buffet dinner at about $35++ per pax (1 dines free for every 3 paying adult). Was initially skeptical of the quality to be honest but was quite impressed by the freshness of seafood, vegetables and meat. Everything came pretty quickly and in order despite a full restaurant. All staff are very attentive and polite as well. Love their efficiency. Dishes are not too salty as well - some are average like the soup, tofu and sweet sour pork, but some above average such as the braised duck, horfun, gingko nut yam paste dessert and a couple of dim sum selections. The fish was really not too bad as well. $140 for 4 pax with about 15 dishes ordered - not too bad a price and in fact super good deal if you can really eat. Quality also decent. Will be back for sure! ”
